Objectify CMS Standard Features
The following includes some key standard Objectify Content Management System functionality provided as part of a base Objectify CMS implementation which can be configured for client specific requirements.
HTML Editor
The Objectify Content Management System has a rich HTML toolbar and in the CMS editing is in context. Functionality includes spell check, default paste as text, customizable colour palette, customizable styles, view source mode, table functionality, and functionality supporting accessibility such as table rows or columns as headings and ability to add and change alt tags.
The default paste as text means that all unnecessary tags are stripped out. Documents can be created using content from Word, PDF or typed directly into the system and formatted using a familiar HTML editing toolbar so a basic Word user will find building records easy.
Multimedia
Office documents, images, PDFs, movies, sound files, flash and the like are stored in Objectify's multi-media library. The library is structured by media type, but can also be structured by category by the system administrator, for example, by subdivision or by site structure.
The Multi-media library also allows for bulk import of media items by administrators. If authors have permission to do so, they can upload media. Authors can publish media or media can go through workflow via an approver or approvers and publisher. Items can be previewed, versions are recorded and the system can roll-back a media item to a previous version.
Metadata can be associated with media. For accessibility, alt tags can be set for images and user-friendly names be presented on web pages. Authors can also edit alt tags and user-friendly file names to suit the content context. The administrator can change settings for file types and s to be dynamically displayed on web pages, and file icons can be associated with media types, so a PDF displays with a PDF icon.
Metadata
Content Management System authors have the capability to populate AGLS schema Metadata on content pages, according the Objectify user manuals. Administrators can create default Metadata for the site or site sections. This default Metadata will pre-populate the Metadata fields on pages created by authors. Site Builders are able to modify the Metadata schema and Dublin Core elements.
Site Map
Site maps in Objectify are dynamically generated to represent your site by page title in a Windows Explorer type layout. The site map is automatically updated to reflect published pages in site studio so there is no additional work for your authors. All pages titles are interactive linking the site user to the respective page.
Site maps are dynamic to a definable depth.
Standard Search
Objectify's standard Content Management System search allows for the Free Text Searching across entire site. Site information searched includes content title, page content and related media such as PDFs and Microsoft Documents.
Collection Index
Collection Indexes move and archive (base delivery) Manage and present collections of similar content items. There will be one page with collection indexes inserted, for example News, Vacancies or Media Releases. Collection Indexes provide navigational indexes of topics and can be easily edited by Authors. Items created in a collection index are automatically linked to detailed target pages and integrate with promotional panel functionality. The collection index templates are to be stored in the template library for future reference.
Promotional Panel
Content can be dynamically displayed in promotional panels in strategic places throughout the website. Items listed will link directly through to the corresponding pages.
Examples are:
- Display the top four most recently published items, such as news
- Display flagged items such as job vacancies for promotion
- Display flagged sub-topics or nodes such as "Induction Policies"
- Display the top 5 most visited pages
Navigation View
Objectify Content Management System Navigation View displays a movable sidebar that allows authors to view a hierarchical tree structure view of the entire site regardless of the page they are on within the CMS. This enables them to quickly navigate to pages within the site. This view also contains a list of your pages you have added to your favourites list enabling easy access to content deep within the site.
